Installation Guide HP-IL/PC Interface Card :

Because some different PCs have mechanical tolerances, I do not finishing
mounting of the bracket (with IL-Terminal) to the top side of the  printed
board. Install the card with correct position to the ISA slot of your PC -
and place the bracket to the rear side chassis. Without the  correct ISA
slot position you will get no correct function ! Now mark the actual
positions of the two screwing holes of the bracket to the printed  board.
Remove the card, drill the two holes in the printed board (Ø=2,5 mm) and
mount the bracket to the top side of the card. Last insert the  card again
to your PC and screw the bracket to the PC chassis.


Check the correct address switch setting 1110 000  (= 700 default) or 0110
0000
(= 300 only for WIN2000/NT/XP in combination with address routing software
tool. For installing this software tool an own User Port description  paper
exist).

Install EMU41 software package including the personal signed full version
EMU41.exe  file to an folder of your hard disc drive and check the  correct
device settings in the EMU41.INI file : Set the 700 or 300 extension of the
XIL device at the end of the EMU41.INI file !

Start EMU41, execute SF 15 for activating the left screen video display and
execute some basic function tests for testing the emulator. Execute  CAT 0
(CCD-Module) for listing the virtual IL-devices.

Wire a HP-41 handheld computer with IL-Module to the HP-IL/PC Interface
Card, switch ON the handheld, SF 15, AUTOIO and execute DIR = CAT 7
(CCD-Module). Now the handheld is scanning the virtual Interface Loop of
EMU41, finds the HDRIVE1 and lists the files. During the ON mode of HP-41
the calculator mode of Emu41 is deactivated (because only one loop
controller is possible).

Transfer some program files from HP-41 main memory to HDRIVE1 with WRTP
command. Switch OFF the handheld. Load the programs to EMU41 main memory  by
executing READP. Now CAT 1 lists the uploaded routines in EMU41....
